Native Harm Reduction Montreal (NHRM) is an Information-Sharing/Outreach project which began with a mandate to distribute all resources available and naloxone kits to the urban Indigenous population of Montreal and surrounding communities as well as to create a media campaign to raise awareness about the overdose crisis, with a specific focus on Indigenouspeople. NHRM would also liaise with Indigenous communities like Kahnawake to raise awareness about the ongoing crisises and develop culturally-sensitive protocols for responding to it. There will be a multimedia project to promote the message of NHRM, and Indigenous resources will be part of all my projects (and has been part of all my current work from the TV series Im involved in, to my music, to Iskweu). I now have connections with APTN through my TV shows, and with other indigenous collaborators across the country, including Wab Kinew, and the Tenant Overdose Response Organizers (TORO) program, which does harm reduction work in the indigenous community in Vancouvers DTES.
