Charles Barabé
Interested by pop music, free jazz, contemporary compositions and improvisation, Barabé is able to combine such disparate influences to realize wholly new compositions. His work is a reflection on the emotional scars (in a personal and collective way) and the shadows of the past. Despite rare live performances, he is active in the cassette community and has run the acclaimed cassette label, La Cohu, since 2012. Barabé has written and produced nine feature films, many of them featured at the RVCQ (Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois) as well as numerous short videos to accompany music by several artists. His newest releases, "Les dernières confessions" (Orange Milk) and "Cicatrices" (Never Anything) have garnered high praise pushing Barabe into a new, intense, and international spotlight.

Son travail est une réflexion sur les cicatrices émotionnelles autant personnelles que collectives.
