In Jiibay Spirit, Janice Toulouse brings forward a body of work shaped by meditation, land connection, and relationship with the spirit world. These paintings invite visitors into a slower, more attentive space where art is not separate from memory, teaching, or inner life. For Montréal audiences, this is one of April’s strongest Indigenous gallery exhibitions: contemporary work that remains deeply grounded in Anishinaabe worldview and lived continuity
